Coffee Shop Assistant/Barista Volunteer opportunity

looking for a volunteer to work in our new coffee shop situated next to St Lukes Church, opposite Unite Greetham Street. Volunteering is a wonderful thing to do, not just for others, but for yourself as well. Not only does it help the community, it’s also good for you in many ways.

Job Purpose


The role of the Coffee Shop Assistant / Barista is to create a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere for all visitors, co workers, and staff. To prepare fresh food and drinks in a coffee shop setting whilst maintaining a high standard of service and customer care with a friendly and polite attitude at all times.

 

At the Host Cafe, we want our customers to feel a warm welcome and enjoy great coffee. We are a community cafe offering a unique experience, our building has been transformed into a quirky warehouse style coffee shop. We have a fabulous coffee cart which makes the best coffee, using locally roasted coffee beans. You will be working in a small friendly team and will be given training and support with the opportunity to gain a qualification in customer service.

Day-to-day tasks
â–  prepare the coffee shop ready for opening
â–  take customer orders and payments
â–  grind fresh coffee beans
â–  prepare and serve sandwiches and cakes
â–  clean and tidy work areas, equipment and coffee machines
â–  create displays of stock
â–  do stock checks and order new stock
â–  clean and tidy the coffee shop before closing


Hours:

We are open Monday to Thursday (from early February) 9am to 4pm and would like a commitment of 4 hours per week minimum.
